Security is a critical part of running a business, yet many companies unknowingly make mistakes that leave them vulnerable. Here are the ones we see most often, and how to fix them.
1. Choosing on price alone. The cheapest quote is rarely the best value. Ask what is included, who will be on site and how they are chosen.
2. Not being clear about what you need. If the brief is vague, the cover will be too. Write down your busiest times, your worries and what a good night or day looks like.
3. Forgetting about guest experience. Security that is too heavy-handed can drive customers away. Look for officers who are friendly and approachable.
4. Not briefing the team. Officers do their best work when they know the venue, the layout and the people. A short briefing before each job makes a real difference.
5. Never reviewing it. Your venue changes, and so do your risks. Check in regularly with your provider and adjust the plan.
A free consultation is a good place to start. We will talk through your venue and help you avoid these mistakes from day one.
